With regards to all the reading I ought to do before starting work, I have to quote President Schwarzanegger from The Simpsons Movie:

I was elected to leeeeeeeead. Not to reeeeeeeeead.

Sigh.

A few loose ends left to tie up — a visit to the hairdressers and the dentist, friends to meet, things to buy. Everyone asks how I feel about the impending move/starting work.. I feel nothing. I’m just pysching myself to hit the ground running, and for the long hours ahead. In fact, I’m even kind of looking forward to it (you can laugh at this when I’m falling asleep at dinner tables in the future). As much as the past 1.5 months of travelling and relaxing has been great, it feels good to be able to put my head down and channel my energy somewhere productive. But.. I do know I’m going to be putting my makeup on in the mornings with half-open eyes.

For those in Singapore, do check out Wild Oats — it’s right next to Wild Rocket, and run by the same guy. It’s a bar that’s located in an old bungalow, and the patio is great for sitting around while waiting for dinner-time. I love the chilled-out atmosphere, and these super comfy rattan chairs. They’ve also got some kickass chicken wings with chilli sauce.
